Our Huskies, Our Future Operating Levy Plan
Albany Area Schools wants to continue protecting and providing the programs and staff that students rely on every day. The proposed operating levy referendum is designed to do just that, while stabilizing the district’s budget.
On Tuesday, November 3, voters in the Albany Area Schools district will be asked to consider a new operating levy referendum that would raise general education revenue by $1,147 per pupil each year for 10 years. In total, this revenue would generate approximately $1.98 million per year.
If voters approve the operating levy the district plans to direct these dollars toward its highest priorities:
Stabilizing the district’s operating budget
Protecting manageable class sizes
Retaining experienced teachers and support staff
Strengthening curriculum and academic and career programs
Providing support services so all students get the help they need
Rebuilding the district’s fund balance reserves
Sustaining the educational opportunities that will build our enrollment over time
