How this plan impacts our community
The plan provides enough space to meet our needs right now
With the addition of an Early Learning Center, four to five classrooms at Avon Elementary and Albany Elementary will be used to support our need for space right now. Approximately 80 - 100 students in those buildings would transition to the Early Learning Center in Albany, and would have the space needed to learn and grow.
The plan provides enough space to meet our needs for the future
The additional space also allows us to accommodate our projected enrollment growth and recapture much-needed space for some of our current programs and services.
The plan re-uses a currently-vacated building in our community
The district feels that re-using an existing City asset is a more fiscally-responsible decision than building new.
The plan provides access to local amenities and lowers congestion
The new Early Learning Center is located next to over 60 acres of City park space and would reduce traffic and congestion to our main campus in Albany.
